Last weekend I went with a friend to our town's "Tour of Homes." These are the homes on "the other side of the tracks" from where I live.
I've never seen so much marble, slate, granite, tile and hardwood in my life. There was one home we went in that I couldn't even have afforded the artwork and decorations they had in one bathroom and the utility room. Yes, they actually had ART in a bathroom and laundry room. Holy crap, I can't imagine the mortgage or insurance payments.
I mean these houses were so big you'd need to tattoo the floor plan on your thigh so you could navigate from room to room. At the very least keep a snack in your pocket at all times so in case you get lost going from the bedroom to the "home theater" room, you won't starve to death before someone finds you.
It was pretty darned depressing going home to my linoleum and formica! Not to mention my "artless" bathroom.
