Just call me "The Shark." Bowling shark that is. This is my third year on this league, and let me just clarify that I suck at bowling. There's no rhyme or reason to my form, score or anything that has to do with bowling. I get up there every Monday, stand the same way, hold the ball the same way and throw it the same way. Sometimes it's good, and sometimes it's bad. And sometime's it's very, very bad. (like last week!)
But this week I guess the planets all were alligned just perfectly because I totally kicked ass. (well, for me I kicked ass, but not like how Wanda on one of the other teams kicks ass on a regular basis.) There were times when I actually marked more than 2 frames in a row!!! Can ya believe it... huh, huh...can ya??
Normally my best game is the first one. So last night I rolled a 134. Pretty damn good considering my average is a whopping 114. So I'm expecting it to go downhill from there. But much to my surprise, I rolled a 138 the second game. At that point I begin to fantasize about that elusive 400 series that has never come my way. (twice I've gotten a 399) But I'm afraid to jinx myself by thinking about it too much. But it was just in the stars last night. My final game was a 166...the highest of my bowling career and a total of 52 whoppin' pins over my average!!
So I end the evening with a 438 series, which entitles me to a 400 series pin. (They only give those to people who have really low averages. Most other bowlers can achieve this on a regular basis, and even extend into the 500 and 600 series.)
So, for today at least, I get to wear the bowling shark fin. I'm sure I'll totally stink again next week!
