Note to self: When using the Brita water container/thingy in the fridge, remember to push it back further on the shelf, otherwise you'll end up with 2 gallons of water inside the fridge and on the floor. (Funny how 2 gallons of water doesn't look like much when they're contained within the water dispenser, but looks like freakin' Lake Michigan when it's on the kitchen floor.)

Yesterday I picked up my oldest son at school because he was sick. We were on our way to the doctor but made a quick stop at the house because his throat hurt and he was thirsty. I ran in to get him a cup of water and dash back outside so we won't be late for our appointment.

Well, 2 hours later when we finally arrive home I discover Lake Michigan on my kitchen floor. And once I opened the fridge door, I found Lake Superior underneath the crisper drawers. (we have the fridge on top and freezer on the bottom, so I even ended up with a small iceberg in the freezer from where the water had leaked through.)

So anyway, if any of you out there have the Brita water thingy, always, always, ALWAYS make sure you push it back on the shelf so when you close the fridge door, nothing can "accidentally" cause a flood in your kitchen.
